Alex didn't have a problem killing an animal for an experiment in magic and besides, they just needed the blood. Alex would bring back the carcass for food. Two for the price of one. It hadn't taken him long to track down a jackrabbit and kill it. Draining the blood took longer than anticipated but Jane wasn't there yet either so he'd begun to skin the animal while he waited.
